Most of these decisions trade automation for control: nothing is published, deleted or rewritten without an explicit mark from me.

- **Obsidian synced into Ghost, not a separate garden site.** One site, one look, and [Stamps and Stickies](https://christingeorge.com/stamps-and-stickies/) work on notes too.
- **Syncthing through the NAS, not Obsidian Sync or Git.** Free, private, and works from the phone. Git on Android is unreliable.
- **Publish only with `publish: true`.** Private notes stay private.
- **The sync talks to Ghost on the local network.** Ghost’s admin is behind Cloudflare Access.
- **Posts stay in Ghost; the sync only reads them.** Ghost’s editor, cards and newsletters stay intact.
- **TL;DRs in my own words, no AI.** A custom excerpt wins; otherwise the strongest line. AI summaries can come later, with my approval.
