Now

A month-by-month log, now page style. Currently looking for my next product team, ideally where platforms and AI collide. Say hi.

Twenty years since Preethi and I started dating, and fourteen since we got married. Everything else this month is a footnote, but here are the footnotes anyway.

Launched this site. Self-hosted, obviously. Moved my food diary onto the NAS and taught Claude to write into it. Found out Docker had never been on my SSDs while writing a post claiming it was, and fixed it the same afternoon. Built this theme, then rebuilt it roughly fifteen times.

Off the keyboard: heading to IndieWeb Kerala, arriving with a self-hosted blog like it's a membership card. Then Hiran's AeroPress workshop on the 29th, where I expect to learn I've been making coffee wrong for years. And prepping for an overnight trek in the Periyar Tiger Reserve next month. The tigers have not confirmed.

Rewrote my resume by asking an AI to roast it like a hiring manager. It was rude. It was right. Picked up a new consulting project with an AI startup that models cause and effect, which is how I ended up mapping Dubai oil prices to GDP at 1am. Built a small ball-maze game called TILT for no good reason. Revisited my Harry Potter opinions. They have not softened.

Badminton got serious. Dog-sat the neighbours' dog. More hospital runs. Two consulting projects on the go: a CMS that would like to make money, and a hardware company asking itself the same question. Spent more time than is reasonable predicting F1 grid positions, mostly wrong. My smartwatch spent the month eating its own battery, so I spent mine finding out why, with ADB.

Anu's chicken pot pie was my first real temptation, and I lost, repeatedly. Then back to India for a run of family hospital visits. As a Lewis fan, a ridiculous month: P2 in Monaco, then his first win in red, in Barcelona. Started playing badminton with the neighbourhood.

Preethi had a work event in Las Vegas, so I went early and stayed with Alex and Anu in New York and New Jersey, then met her in Vegas for a short holiday and the Grand Canyon West. The plan for my cousin to drive us from Vegas to LA fell through; we got to LA anyway and stayed with them. Then two weeks of doing nothing much in New Jersey. Three cities, other people's kitchens, and I didn't miss a single day of targets. Also, Lewis P2 in Canada.

A doctor's visit made it official: this is a project now, not a someday. Started the month at 97 kg and ended it at 92.

The rest of the month went into making videos for @aztecdranzer. Thomas had a DaVinci Resolve Studio licence he wasn't using, and now I am. It's a ridiculous amount of software for someone filming collectibles on a desk, and I've loved every minute of learning it: colour, cuts, and how much a video improves when you stop being precious about footage.
